Tis the season and Social Media is utilizing the tools that are multiplying every day. Politicians, marketers, writers, almost everyone is using it.
I have two videos below for your information.
The first I recorded from my desktop as I received a message from the Obama for America team. Talk about integrating social media with your message, this technique personalizes their message to you and even has its star US President Barack Obama penning a Holiday message personally to me. Very cool.
The second video has some very interesting statistics on it. Thanks to Dr. Matthew Loop of DCIncome.com for bringing this video to my attention.
For all of you who might think this is a fad, notice the statistics, especially in regards to the fastest growing segment of the population on Facebook

One of the bright young new stars in the new media space is Rahaf Harfoush of Toronto and Geneva. Rahaf has earned her reputation as a productive and inciteful research coordinator for Don Tapscott author of Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything and
Grown Up Digital: How the Net Generation is Changing Your World HC who has written a series of books on the Digital World. I think that this new book, Yes We Did! An inside look at how social media built the Obama brand (Voices That Matter)
is a good view for marketers on the changes and methods employed in Social media marketing and will be a good read for you . The Obama campaign is widely credited for its unprecedented use of New Media for everything from fundraising to volunteer coordination. After intensively researching the campaign, Rahaf Harfoush had the opportunity to witness the innovation firsthand when joined the New Media team in Chicago for three months. This book takes a comprehensive look at the campaign’s use of technology leading up to election night and explores the strategic insights that organizations can apply to their own brand. Peppered with interviews, photos and anecdotes from key members of the New Media Team, this book reveals how the combination of an unwavering strategic vision and collaborative technologies including blogs, social networks, twitter and SMS messaging, empowered a formidable online community to elect the world’s first “digital” President.

You will be able to find Yes We Did! An inside look at how social media built the Obama brand (Voices That Matter) at Amazon.
Rahaf now works with the World Economic Forum In Switzerland, and has published a number of papers on the impact of Technology on youth today for Don Tapscott’s think tank Ngenera. She has been a popular speaker on Technology and New Media since 2006 and has been a co-host on the successful, widely distributed technology videopodcast CommandN
