30 day Blog Challenge

0
Buffer

Well I have got to the end of this challenge and posted 30 posts in 30 days. What a wonderful way to motivate us to write hopefully interesting posts and work in a community of writers and professionals that care and share.

I hope to continue every other day with this blog and post useful ideas and content to my readers . I thank both Dr Jeanette Cates and Connie Ragen Green for encouraging me and 240 or so others to participate in this modified skinner box experiment. I will not push the handle to get my emotional reward for completion but I will remember the habits that these two educators and mentors have instilled.

I am interested in my readers and their thoughts on the topics I have covered over the last thirty days. What topics interest you and which ones would you like to see more of? Leave a comment or suggestion and I will follow your desires, provided they are awful and decent.):

I note that a lot of the participants also exceeded the targets and I congratulate them for it. I have learned through this that simple act of having a writing ritual has help me with the organization and direction of my business which is helping small businesses and professionals get their message out and grow their business.Practice does make perfect and all marketers can always use more practice.

Listening is also as important as writing to a marketer, by doing your basic research and finding useful information that can help others we will grow ourselves and our businesses while having fun along the way.
I do hope that we can continue to connect with the MOM group and be of assistance to others going forward

Blogging for Business

Buffer

A blog is one of the best tools to use to express your opinions and get exposure on the internet.

One of the benefits of a blog for a business or practice is fresh content about your business can constantly be spread far and wide at very little cost to you besides the time it takes to think and write your posting. You know the questions that customers or patients are always asking so writing blog posts around them is an easy way to communicate and provide meaningful answers.

Keep your market informed on the latest news in you area of expertise. If you were a podiatrist you make want to teach people who have diabetes about the importance of good foot care and the management of neuropathy. If you are a dentist you could discuss the latest ways of teeth-whitening and implant surgery and the methods and benefits f the treatments.

Health care professionals can use their blog to put out health promotion and prevention messages to patients in order to keep their health in tip top shape or to assist those with a particular ailment.

The blog should also encourage participation by the market and lively discussion to bring a sense of community to your blog. Often people want to tell their own story of how the practitioner helped them and what it meant to them. The practitioner could also use the blog to keep patients informed of seasonal or issue specific events such as flu shot clinics or Open Houses. Before the internet and Web 2.0 my uncle, a prominent chiropractor in the US, used a series of photo albums with letters and pictures from patients as his blog of sorts. It was very popular reading in his waiting room then, just as the same material would be in Web 2.0 blogs.

Posting as often as possible allows you to convey more information, answer questions and build up your content while allowing a fixed time for this purpose. You can always have “evergreen” or non time specific content on hand to provide for those times that you are too busy practising, or preparing client’s taxes to post.

Get in the habit of writing weekly and you will be amazed at how you can easily fit it as a personal marketing effort that yields you great benefits and strengthens your position as a great communicator.

Article Marketing You Are An Expert- Let People Know

0

Article Marketing Works

In order to be considered as an expert on something you must seen as someone who is by using article marketing.

Write appropriate and knowledgeable articles demonstrating that knowledge. The articles need to be factual and show that you have a well rounded education on the subject. Once readers have understood your articles and enjoy them then they will look for other marketing articles from you.

Articles used for marketing need to be able to connect with the reader. The articles need to be well written and describe the product or service or idea so that the reader feels it is a truthful and informative story. Leave the door open at the end for the reader to have the opportunity to contact you for more information. Have your article flow into this area at the end which is commonly called a resource box on an article or the last sentence of your blog post.

You also want your internet article marketing online advertising to be reflected in your offline advertising. Your business cards, stationary and any give away items should refer people to your online campaign. If you have signs on your vehicle or a vehicle paint job it also needs to refer to your online marketing campaign. If people remember your key phrase and you have written it effectively the internet marketing search engines will find your marketing articles when people go online to look for you. Article marketing generates exposure.

One way to connect with the readers is to tell them what they want to know. Find the questions they ask the most on the subject by doing research on Google, Bing ,Yahoo Answers and forums on the subject of interest. Do not beat around the bush and act conspicuous. Just give them the details that will give the best knowledge for their decision. For instance, if you sell solar equipment, then you should give them precise estimates as to how much it will cost and how much it will save in the long run before talking about your product. Encourage them to take the next step and contact you via email or telephone and then qualify them based on their interest. Listen first, talk second.

Once you have made up an education campaign with the use of online articles, you will need to attract as much traffic as possible. An easy way to do this is to use keywords in the title of the article, and include them naturally throughout the article that related directly to your business. This way, when people use popular search engines, your products and articles will come up on their search results.

Picking a subject that you are extremely familiar with and advertising it properly online can allow you to gain popularity within your field. For example, if you want to advertise cameras then you could have all of the history and information of the manufactures and brands readily available to your readers.

Article Marketing Summarized

1. Define your niche
2. Present yourself as the expert via article marketing
3. Make it easy for people and search engines to find you on the web
4. Make sure your keywords and phrases are consistent and plentiful
5. Link out and gain links from other websites in your topic area.

Let me invite you to read other articles on this blog about article marketing to assist you with your marketing skills and offer you ideas and techniques to improve your results.

A campaign that employs article marketing seo tactics is sure to get more links, more exposure and boost your rankings in the search engines

Dirtbags, Douchebags and You

0
Buffer

One of the most important things you can do online is engage in some sort of scan for online reputation management. If you do not it is amazing what some dirtbags and douchebags can try to do to you.

So what do I mean by reputation management. Simply put it is keeping track across the web on an ongoing basis of things that are being said, written or referred to in others posts that mention you or your brand. . With the rise of the ability for anyone to post content it is possible for someone with an axe to grind to place an item higher in the SERP’s than yours that makes you look bad. Politicians and businesses have to also have a bit of a thick skin because overresponse sometimes gives more publicity to the inaccurate or opinion comments than they deserve. One has to respond factually where appropriate, when untrue allegations are made. As your business reputation is built on” know, like and trust” you have to project and reflect on what is being said.

One method is to post content not in rebuttal to the slagging you may be taking by unhappy readers, contrarian opinions or just malicious comment but to highlight what you believe are your strongest reputation factors, including posts by others who are your supporters and fans. You will often be surprised pleasantly from quarters that you might not expect in coming to your aid.

One tool that you can use to scan constantly are Google Alerts. You set up the alert whenever your name, brand or business appears in a search listing and you will get a message from Google automatically, on a schedule that you select, reporting on the keywords your alert query is based on and outlining the link and content.

I use Socialmention.com to do a scan also.Social Mention aggregates data from the web and a variety of social media sites and allows you to set up alerts as well as post a widget on your site when your terms appear.. Another site is MonitorThis, which allows you to search over 23 engines for items. Google Blogs allows for searching on blogs and another site called LookupPage allows you to setup a profile page of your own for your business or self.

For your info there is a good article by Alyssa Gregory on Sitepoint.com outlining more tools.
